Shinning a light on the parenting skills no one talks about.

Parenting is hard and important, if it wasn’t there wouldn’t be billions of books on it. There wouldn’t be professionals who dedicate their lives to studying and understanding it. When developing parenting skills concepts like communication style, parenting style and discipline have been used as foundations to help parents and guardians in their journey to raise children into competent adults. And these concepts are very much needed, however I want to talk about parent skills that don’t get much time in the spotlight. I’m starting a series on parenting skills that no one talks about (well maybe not no one, let’s just say they aren’t mentioned too often). The skills I’ll cover are ones that are helpful for you to be the parent you want to be. That’s right the focus is all on you, my friend! This post is an overview of the parenting skills I will be discussing. In the coming weeks I will do a separate post for each skill, going in more depth of what it means, why it’s important and how to practice it when with your kid(s).
